Amsterdam

Today was especially very tiring cause I had to get up at 5:30 in the AM to catch an early train to Amsterdam. It's a 4 hour ride, but the scenery is rather pleasant which helped. I was comparing it to the train ride between Riyadh and Dammam which is also 4 hours but the scenery is a boringly(I think I just made a word) monotonous desert. The first thing I did after getting to Amsterdam was the canal cruise which was rather gay and definitely over rated. It's amazing how people get used to the place where they're living. There's boats parked in front of the houses and apartments since the front door opens on a canal! With tons of canals and pretty bridges built over them, no wonder Amsterdam is known as Venice of the North. The city is beautiful with the all too ubiquitous narrow alleys and cobblestone roads. Museums definitely rocked! I went to Rijks and Van Gogh, and felt smarter after walking out of 'em cause I learned a few things about the Dutch history and Rembrandt and Van Gogh. A visit to the Red Light District is a must when you're in Amsterdam :) It was hilarious seeing these women solicit in broad daylight!!! I've seen a few things in the US as well, but not in broad daylight, for God's sake... And of course you see mushrooms and hash friggin' everywhere.

I got to my hotel late tonight, leaving for Dubai tomorrow afternoon. I wanna eat Nutella Crepe one more time before I go, that's what I plan to do before going to the airport Insha Allah.
