After months of waiting, I finally ended up going skydiving this past Saturday, and boy did I have fun? I wish it was a little cheaper, it's cost prohibitively expensive. $225 for the jump, and $150 for a DVD, VHS and a set of 24 stills. But you know what.... it was all worth it. It's an addictive sport, my tandem instructor told me as we suited up to board the plane. I say it's an insane sport :) you jump out of a perfectly flying plane at an altitude of 13000 feet, fall freely at the speed of 120 miles an hour for the first 30 or so seconds, and then open your parachute, and considering it's a good parachute and it opened properly, you enjoy your 10-15 minutes of slow descent to the landing zone. It doesn't look like it but it's amazing that how much control you actually have over steering your direction coming down, and eventually making it right on the target landing zone. They make you watch a safety video before you actually go for your first jump. Once you jump off the plane, there are so many things going through your head that it's hard to remember all the directions, at least for me it was. This skydiving place is really nice, cause on a clear day, you can see the Boston skyline, the city of Nashua, NH, and Mount Washington's summit. Also, no wonder my instructor asked me whether I needed gloves, it was 77 on the ground, but two miles up in the air (which is where we jumped off), it was freezing!!!
All in all, it was a great feeling and a rush like I've never experienced before.
